For the first time in TYNDP 2020 ENTSO-E has approximated the impact of TYNDP projects on the European Union’s economy, to highlight the direct socio-economic benefits of electricity infrastructure projects.

The benefits calculated by this assessment illustrate that the TYNDP portfolio, if fully realised, would deliver substantial employment and economic benefits to Europe and Europeans. Employment over several years would be guaranteed as large-scale transmission and storage projects require several years to construct.

ENTSO-E believes this study is especially important given the economic recovery that must be undertaken post-pandemic. The report released today presents the results and general methodology of the study.
